Click here to shop Funjet Vacations! How much to tip can seem as complicated as calculus, especially at an All-Inclusive Resort where at the end of your day by the swim-up bar or your fabulous dinner at a Seafood specialty restaurant there is no tab. You don't want to seem cheap, but you don't want to overdo it- especially if you are traveling in a tight budget. Here is a quick guide I recommend to show your gratitude for amazing service and yummy drinks in a variety of situations: -Waiter/waitress: $1-2 dollars per meal per person, if you are feeling generous and the service was fabulous reward them with a $5 dollars bill. They will love you for it and it is much cheaper than the expected 15-20% people feel entitled in America regardless of the service they are providing you. -Bartender: This one is my favorite person to tip, it gets tricky so bare with me. $1-2 dollars is appropriate for your quick cocktail at the lobby prior to dinner or even after when headed to the show. Now, if you found that rock star bartender who is making you drinks all day long at the swim-up bar and hooking you up with rounds of shots, then by all means I would not tip less than $5 bucks. Again, your bar tab back home would have been $200+ and this guy probably even danced for you and knows you by name. Thank me later! -Airport or Excursion Drivers: $2-3 dollars is appropriate for a shorter ride. If you are staying at a resort that is over an hour away from the airport and the driver even helps with your luggage then use your judgment and tip as best as you can. -Room Service: At some resorts is included so the delivery guy will be happy with $2-3 dollars per room. -Hotel Housekeeper: Some guests prefer to tip them only once at the end of their stay, some prefer to do it daily. I love a maid who decorates my bed and sets up the tub in the bathroom. Bonus points, if she restocks my mini-bar daily. Something to keep in mind is that they rotate every few days so if you are tipping only at the end of your stay, you may only be tipping one of them. $2-3 per night (or more for a high-end hotel, or if you've got more than two other people staying with you. -Butler: This is a less common case but when you book with Larimar Travels you know whether or not you have a butler included. If you staying at a Sandals Resort, the butler is the ONLY person you are allowed to tip, so for my Sandals guests please ignore the tipping suggestions above, their staff is not allowed to accept tips. Anyways, if you went the extra mile and want to have a lavish vacation or honeymoon and be pampered (trust me your honey can't compete with your butler, but he will take the credit for the fabulous vacation!). Hint Hint! Anyways, your butler tip should be about $20 per day depending on how much you use him/her. Do you want to know how to get a butler? Call me! -Masseuse: Spa services are not included at most resorts so as a separate service, I would recommend to tip the standard 15-20% -Event planners: If you are getting married at the resort then use your judgement for tipping based on the support and great service you receive from the onsite wedding coordinator. There is not a set guide to tip these staff members but I am almost certain they would appreciate $50-100 or a special gift you may bring them (Victoria Secret gift sets make for great gifts if you know a little bit about their personality). All Inclusive Resorts are a unique offering mostly available in Mexico and the Caribbean. If you did not know I worked at a couple of resorts myself in Punta Cana way back in the days so I can assure you tipping is a huge part of the income of these staff members who work 10-12 hours a day to make your stay "perfect". When you tip you are truly helping them take care of their family. Did you know that the average hotel full time employee makes roughly $400 per month?
