"Theres no such a fecking thing as a fecking flight for 50p...." hahaha. Enjoy!
This shall forever be my favorite parody about "cheap deals" and "lowest" prices advertised... It only reminds me of my flight experience last November with Spirit Airlines going to NYC. We refuse to book our personal or client vacations on this airline. You will need to spend the amount "saved" in vodka upon arrival to get your sanity back haha. "Theres no such a fecking thing as a fecking flight for 50p...." hahaha. Enjoy!

As a travel agent I have access to the same information that you as a consumer have. The difference is that because I do this for a living, and I book vacations daily I get to curate the information for my clients. For example: I just saw a "deal" in Travelzoo for $399 to Puerto Rico WITH air. Really? Let's break down this package... If you have flown anywhere in the United States in the past 5 years, chances are that your flight alone was a couple of hundred dollars roundtrip, right? Regardless of the deepest discount, would you be willing to spend your precious vacation at a $20/night resort? Cheapest is not always the best value. We are happy to announce that we have 2015 dates for this fantastic experience! Whether single, married, or simply looking to get away with the girls, the B.F.F Girls Getaway Weekend (Best Friends Forever Girls Getaway) will be sure to deliver fun, sun and the ultimate girls bonding experience! Ready to book this Fabulous escape?

On July 6, 2014, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) issued a statement that travelers may be asked to turn on their electronic devices as part of the security screening process. "As the traveling public knows, all electronic devices are screened by security officers. During the security examination, officers may also ask that owners power up some devices, including cell phones. Powerless devices will not be permitted onboard the aircraft. The traveler may also undergo additional screening." So if you are traveling in the next few weeks, be prepared to collaborate with the extra security measurements put in place. To avoid any inconveniences boarding your flight make sure that all of your electronic devices are fully charged; as an extra precaution, double check that you have packed your cell phones and iPads/tablets chargers. And like any other investment, such as a house or car, you should have your travel plans insured. Notall of your travel plans though, such as a weekend at the beach.
But the trips you typically book through our agency—the long, extensive, life-changing journeys that transport you around the world—should be covered. Why? Because if a natural disaster or sudden illness ruined your travel plans, you’d lose your hard-earned money. And we don’t want that to happen! While all plans differ, in general, travel insurance protects you and your family in case you get sick or become injured right before your trip. It can also cover medical and hospital expenses, which can add up quickly in foreign destinations, and emergency evacuation to a more-suitable hospital. A good travel insurance policy doesn’t stop there. It can also assist you if you have to cancel a flight due to a personal emergency, or cover your expenses if your train is delayed due to severe weather. It even lends a hand if your luggage is lost or stolen, or if your pocket is picked. Most of the insurance plans we offer include free worldwide telephone assistance, available 24/7, just in case an emergency arises or you need directions to the nearest pharmacy. And some even cover preexisting conditions. We’ll gladly go over all the options with you the next time you book your trip of a lifetime! Call or email us for more details at [email protected] www.LarimarTravels.Com Because of a growing number of confirmed cases of chikungunya (a mosquito borne virus) in the Caribbean, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in the United States has issued a Level-1 Travel Watch. However, it has not implemented any restrictions on travel to affected destinations.
As of June 4, 2014, the CDC reports confirmed cases of the chikungunya virus in the following Caribbean destinations: Anguilla, Antigua, British Virgin Islands, Dominica, Dominican Republic, French Guiana, Guadeloupe, Guyana, Haiti, Martinique, Puerto Rico, Saint Barthelemy, Saint Kitts, Saint Lucia, Saint Martin (French), Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and Sint Maarten (Dutch). The CDC reports that “Chikungunya is not a nationally notifiable disease in the United States.”
According to the CDC, “Chikungunya is an illness caused by a virus that spreads through mosquito bites.” o “The mosquito that carries chikungunya virus can bite during the day and night, both indoors and outdoors, and often lives around buildings in urban areas.” Fever and joint pain are the most common symptoms of chikungunya. Other symptoms may include headache, muscle pain, joint swelling, or rash. o The CDC Fact Sheet on chikungunya states that “Symptoms appear on average 3 to 7 days after being bitten by an infected mosquito. Most patients feel better after a few days or weeks.”
There are simple precautions travelers can take to minimize their risk of being bitten by an infected mosquito.
The WHO website states: “Basic precautions should be taken by people traveling to risk areas and these include use of repellents, wearing long sleeves and pants and ensuring rooms are fitted with screens to prevent mosquitoes from entering.” If a traveler becomes ill and believes it may be chikungunya, he/she should: o Talk to his/her doctor or nurse, especially if a fever is present and tell medical professionals about recent travel destinations. o Get lots of rest and drink plenty of liquids. o Avoid spreading the disease by preventing more mosquito bites. We strongly encourage all of our clients, whether they are traveling domestically or internationally, to purchase travel insurance, particularly right at the same time as travel has been booked. Travel insurance offers an additional layer of protection for travelers and can potentially help save a traveler hundreds or thousands of dollars if a medical or travel emergency occurs. We are here to assist our clients; the safety and well-being of our clients is our top priority. Source: www.cdc.gov/travel |
